shepherding call
by DesirousOfChange inyou don't say why you are inactive.. if you can control your tongue and not blurt out anything you have learned about ttatt, then perhaps no harm in agreeing to a visit if you feel the need to be polite and cooperative.
no doubt, they will inquire as to why you are inactive.. don't you know it's the truth(tm)?.
don't you know the end(tm) is close?.

i would just lie to them and avoid them by pretending like you have the flu during the week, that way any family can verify that to the CO and DO

what I've experienced is be as evasive as possible. make yourself scarce as possible. should they keep insisting, make up something why you can't meet with them.

Expressions on faces at DC/RC
by BU2B ini have become more observant at the last couple district conventions of jws faces and enthusiasm and it seems to be very somber.
i remember a couple of years ago i was an attendant at one of the upper sections at the blue cross arena in rochester, ny and in afternoon session at least half were curled up with their eyes closed, some with blankets.
the applause seems very forced and mechanical.

yeah, sometimes I pounded back 3 or ever 4 beers in my car during the last half hour before the afternoon session, without eating since breakfast, lol. Needless to say I had plenty of Halls candy or Speermint gum to chew on while going back. It was a nice relaxing afternoon as you can imagine, made sure I had a seat handy close to a washroom too.

what I used to do was this, before the assembly I would stock-up on beer. I would by one of those little coolers which would hold 3-large beer cans at once. I would fill that little cooler with ice and 3-large beer before leaving the hotel before the convention for the morning. Then when noon came along, I would take a stroll out to my car then just pound those beer during lunch. I would make sure I had enough gum with me before going back in,lol, helped to pass the rest of day, you know,

Conventions
by free2beme inas the conventions are in full swing, and my relatives who are still in make a point to tell me what their vacation will include.
i am reminded of a couple of things about conventions i do not normally think about.. one, the people who would protest the conventions.
some with bags on their head, others just holding signs.
